Several days ago, Robbie and I returned from our honeymoon (well, the fancy, relaxing, do-nothing-but-lay-on-the-beach part) and we’re back in Manila at our friend’s condo. Coco Beach was breathtaking and a phenomenal way to recover from the crazy life we had led for the past four months. The resort was located on a small island about four hours away from Manila–3 hours by car and an hour by boat. The water sparkled and glowed a beautiful blueish green color and you could see straight to the bottom.
A small thatch hut with a large balcony, window seat, and view of the ocean served as our room, our solace for eight days. Most mornings when the sun rose, the sky turned a fantastic pink and blue color. We had a buffet breakfast every morning with the eggs lovingly collected from the chickens living behind the resort. We went snorkeling with tropical fish, saw beautiful corals, and even got stung by a couple of jellyfish.
We had a beach dinner where our server sang to us, and we also had a dinner cruise. A boatman took us to our own small beach and we had appetizers and cocktails on the boat. We then dropped off the server for him to prepare dinner and they took me and Robbie on a sunset cruise. There wasn’t a beautiful sunset, but the water was calm and peaceful, we could see to the bottom of the ocean, and the islands were shrouded in clouds. Our dinner was a mango and shrimp salad, lobster, and steak. One of the best dinners we had ever had.
We were sad to leave, but it was a wonderful honeymoon. We’ll remember it forever.
Wow! It sounds like it has been an amazing trip so far! Snorkeling, private beaches, and tropical sunsets oh my! Can’t wait to see some pictures and hear more about the trip. We’ll try to post your wedding pictures somewheres on the interweb soon. Huzzah for you two! We miss you both and already can’t wait to visit you both in your new place!
Best of luck and keep in touch!
